Anna Reed is a pathology resident at Duke University, a leader in the Future Forensic Pathologists group, and a mentor to her peers.
Her interest in pathology began during a college internship at the Houston medical examiner’s office, where she saw firsthand the role of careful investigation in understanding cause of death. Since then, she has pursued a career as a medical examiner.
Anna is especially drawn to forensic pathology, where medicine and investigation intersect. She values the clarity an autopsy can provide and the role it plays in answering difficult questions and offering closure to families.
Anna serves as a committee leader in the NAME Future Forensic Pathologists group. During medical school she led the pathology interest group and mentored underclassmen exploring the field.
